A Wild and Crazy Ride. 11-on-11 December 2013

So it’s been a while.  It has been a wild and crazy ride keeping me from my blogging success.  You know that thing they call mother’s intuition?  I’m pretty sure I’ve got it hard core.  I’ll explain more in a minute.

November went and December came in fast and furious.  It all started with my precious gemstone turning three years old.  I wanted this birthday to be special as it would be her last birthday as an only child, so I planned to throw a birthday party.  The gemstone ended up catching a head cold and we rescheduled the party for a Monday afternoon.  The party-goers were small but the numbers were perfect for a preschooler turning three.  Two friends came to her fairytale express spectacular.  We simply combined everything she loves from trains, to dressing up, and fairytales.  After the party was over, Thanksgiving week ensued with all it’s shopping madness.  I was bound and determined to finish holiday shopping as I wasn’t sure if I would be pregnant or postpartum at Christmas.  Mother’s intuition was also kicking in high gear this week.  I had a horrifically strong feeling that my little flower would be making her presence into this world earlier than most expected. I was right. I tried my hardest to complete every project needed to be done from laundry to painting before her debut.  I managed to do everything accept complete the painting on the walls of her room.  I have one more color yet to add.  I’m a detailed person and have a pretty cool room in mind.  Who know’s maybe it will debut in January’s 11-on-11?!

On Sunday, December 1st, 2013 our family welcomed our first ginger edition to our family.  My husband (a blazen haired gentleman) was smitten to be able to share his fiery hair with one of our offspring.  In the past week we’ve gotten settled in with our newest family member and even decorated our home for the upcoming holiday.

These egg-free cupcakes were soooo yummy. I am allergic to eggs and peanuts so I have added cake making to my repertoire as most bakeries won’t even touch an egg-free cake. The gemstone got cupcakes this year as I was too pregnant to devote the time needed to make an amazing full cake. (She loved the cupcakes!)

My tree is sprinkled with macab and glittery decorations. This little elf is something I savored off of my Grandmother’s Christmas tree after she passed away. I love her crazy ornaments and cherish that they are now family heirlooms in my home.
I had no idea how much my to daughters looked alike until we decorated our tree and I got to see images of the gemstone as a newborn right next to the flower. Good thing their hair and eyes set them apart!
