11-on-11 – SUPER late! January 2014

January 23, 2014  •  Leave a Comment

So I am now officially a mama of two little ladies (last month was the honeymoon!).  It is suuuper crazy, fun, exciting, and exhausting.  I haven’t taken much time to work on  photography and the business  since I’m devoting most of my daylight hours to feeding and clothing the ladies as well as keeping up our home.  Every now and then I remember to take my camera off the mantle (where it’s been since Christmas!) and document these early days.  It’s true, the first child you want to remember each and every little thing.  Even an eye-roll is amazing and memorable.  With the second child you forget to stop and smell the roses because everything isn’t quite new.  I’m working on smelling the photography roses more (and not just with my cell phone!).

This month’s post is missing a self-portrait.  There have been many instances of me looking amazing (like right after you go to the hairdresser and feel like a million bucks) but I just haven’t taken the time to set up a shot and click.  Next month I promise there will be more.

As you probably know, the Midwest is going through some amazing snowfalls and freezes.  I was lucky enough to have my husband home on paternity leave during one of these winter gleams (I actually really like snow when I can play in it).  He tried to take our gemstone outside at least once a day to help wear her out while we were trying to keep the flower holed up in the home safe from germs and colds.  This is also a nice run down of our Christmas morning.  Enjoy!

The gemstone was so excited for Christmas morning. She could barely stand herself. She did three laps at full speed around the living room to burn off all the excitement before she sat down to open Santa

The Gemstone had a cold the first few weeks of the flower’s existence so we naturally kept them apart. Here is the first time she got to hold her sister — boy was she excited!

I bought this wooden ladybug top spinner as a stocking stuffer. Gemstone was a little overwhelmed with flashier toys to show much excitement over my little wooden top.

The best gift of Christmas was seeing that my gemstone really loved what we got her. I was nerve wracked with anticipation!
