September brings many things in the Red Jasper house. The gemstone’s first day of preschool for the 2014-15 schoolyear (isn’t it the best!), her first backyard camping extravaganza, and the flower learning to walk (she hasn’t accomplised this but she’s learning!). Since the gemstone has been flying through clothing sizes the past few years she really didn’t need a “new school wardrobe”, but she did get to pick out a complete outfit to start out her year. Kicking off this month’s 11 pics, is the gemstone in her new kicks. She’s a diva and natural showoff, complete with saying “Peace duuuuude” while posing with her 2 fingers in the air.
The flower is truly learning to walk at her mere 9 months of age. She doesn’t see obstacles and tackles everything head on. I was amazed at her sitting at 5 months old, scooting at 6 months old, but she’s a daredevil and teaching herself balance on her two feet with holding onto nothing. Parenting is exhilerating the first time around but so much fun the second time around as you let them fall a little, and explore at their own pace.
Now for the weather. The weather! It was so perfect for camping this weekend that I got the itch. Then we thought about babies who don’t like to change their sleeping arrangements and decided we’d break in our tent in the backyard. Daddy showed the gemstone the ropes of a tent by staying with her outside and I took baby duty inside. Gemstone learned the magic of smores (which she declared she’d rather have a regular marshmallow), saw the harvest moon a day or two before it’s fullest and closest (boy was it a beauty), and danced under the stars next to a roaring bonfire. I’m pretty sure we’ll atleast camp in the backyard again. I had a blast!
Lastly I’m trying to challenge myself to narrate my 11 pics of the month more with images not of the amazing duo. We’ll see how successful I am next month, it’s just too easy to capture my beauties! The last image is our amazing dog “Niney”. He’s a golden doodle with a mind of his own and a heart of gold. If he loved to play fetch (which he detests) I’d say we should clone him indefinetly.
Have a wonderful start to your autumn!
Becky
