Sunset & Sports, a mixed lifestyle and portrait session

I've known J for a while and adore her company.  I absolutely love documenting her growing family.   After our last session, I suggested that we do a lifestyle session based around her sons' favorite obsessions - sports.  I knew little O & big E were die hard sports fans.  You almost always hear about them sleeping with hockey sticks and they constantly have a ball or two with them.  Sports is a family thing, so it only made sense that we would get the most adorable and naturally happy photos of the boys living their best selves.  Between the family basketball game and E's masterful pickle ball return I was entranced.  Don't worry no cameras were hurt in the return of pickle balls.  The balls were foam (phew!), I found this out after a few close calls and had a good chuckle.

I also know, that sometimes we moms really love to have a portrait session in beautiful scenery showcasing our most dapper selves.  Diversity in love and ideas is really what sets people apart, and also drives great ideas.   So it only made sense to split our session into two parts.  The portrait session and the lifestyle session.  We even chose two separate locations as to give the boys time to reset to have some fun at the courts.  The portrait session would come first at a memorable location, where J&N were married.  So while I snapped images of the boys and glowered over donkeys, J, N & daughter A were remembering special moments of the day they made their union official.  It added to the magic of the evening.  I love photographing my families in special and familiar places.  I get to hear their stories, and hopefully I'm quick enough to capture their faces full of nostalgia and cheer.
